In the latest announcement, Lithium Universe Limited (ASX: LU7) unveiled the completion of an intensive field program at its Apollo Lithium Project. The 2023 summer/fall exploration campaign has defined some potential targets that may be incorporated into a future maiden drilling program for Apollo in 2024.
Spread over an area of around 240 km2, Apollo Lithium Project is based in the same greenstone belt and only 29km south-east of the Corvette Lithium Project and 28 km to the east of Winsome Resources’ Adina project. So far, total 17 pegmatite outcrops have been identified on the tenement package.
Mapping and Sampling Campaign at Apollo
Lithium Universe concluded a mapping and sampling campaign at Apollo Lithium Project, covering high-potential areas identified during KorrAI satellite and airborne magnetic litho-structural interpretations.
The campaign was conducted over 666km of traverses and 209 rock chip samples from the Apollo permit to analyse the potential for rare element lithium-caesium-tantalum (LCT) pegmatite, spodumene mineralisation, and geochemical pathfinders.

The soil sampling program on the north-west and central parts of the project led to the collection of 2,220 samples for analysing the concentration of lithium and other elements in the soil. This would assist in understanding the underlying geology and potential lithium-bearing minerals.
Notably, the company was able to have an updated geological interpretation for the Apollo project using the data from ALS Laboratories. This led to a better understanding of significant rock types and their extent across the 240 km2 permit.
2024 drilling strategy
The company has formulated a drilling strategy for 2024 based on the final soil lab analysis. The strategy has been articulated for drilling along a major east-west trending fault shear corridor feature extending from the Apollo project to Winsome Resources’ Adina Lithium project to the east.
LU7 has partnered with Québec-based exploration company Laurentia Exploration Inc. to advance the exploration work at the project site, including site geological assessments, drilling operations, permitting, helicopter access, and overall logistics management. The field work was started at Apollo by Laurentia in August and September 2023.

Priority drill targets for 2024
LU7 has identified the first drilling targets specifically along shear corridor features, defined by anomalous lithium, caesium, tantalum, beryllium, tin, niobium and tungsten anomalies and trends.
LU7 shares were spotted trading at AU$0.032 apiece on 5 January 2024.
