Highlights
- Drilling at Tennant East has uncovered the Warramunga formation, iron alteration zones and ironstones.
- At Rover East, preparations are underway to drill targets with historically intersected prospective ironstones.
- Reverse circulation (RC) drilling at Kurundi has revealed new gold zones along with mineralised structures. Additional gold-anomalous structures were found at Millers and both Tarragans North and South.
- The upcoming campaign will begin at Kurundi to follow up on deeper gold intercepts and then move to untested high-priority IOCG targets Kuiper 1 and 2.
- Further evaluation is ongoing for priority areas at Rover East, Pioneer, EL31623, and Barkly based on geophysical and assay data.
- KRR shares rose 14.29% to AUD 0.008 on Monday.
Shares of King River Resources (ASX:KRR), a gold exploration company, rose 14.29% to AUD 0.008 on Monday, 5 May 2025. The increase was likely driven by a 1.10% rise in global gold prices, which reached USD 3,278.92.
The company is managing exploration projects at Mt Remarkable in Western Australia and Tennant Creek in the Northern Territory.
Recently, its focus has shifted to a major drilling campaign at Tennant Creek, backed by a AUD 2 million budget. This campaign targets areas identified in the 2023 geophysics survey, including prospective IOCG and gold targets at Tennant East, Barkly, Rover East and Kurundi within the project area.
New Discoveries at Tennant Creek
At the Tennant East Project, RC drilling uncovered ironstones, iron alteration zones and the Warramunga formation at three new locations.
At the Barkly Project, comprehensive magnetics and passive seismic surveys have been concluded. Passive seismic work assisted in interpreting the depth to basement.
The three main targets at Rover East include Anomaly 2, extensions of Explorer 42 and BIF Hill East. In historical drilling, geochemically prospective ironstones were intersected. The company has commenced preparation for RC drilling at this target.
RC drilling at Kurundi Main led to the discovery of new high-grade gold zones and new mineralised structures. Additionally, drilling was completed at Millers and both Tarragans North and South, where multiple gold-anomalous structures were intersected.
Planned Drilling Activities for 2025
The company is preparing to commence its 2025 drilling campaign, starting with Kurundi to follow up on promising deeper intercepts beneath the main mineralised zone where gold mineralisation, strong structural features, and veining have been encountered. The program will also include drill testing of a newly identified structure located near the main zone.
Subsequent drilling will shift to the Kuiper 1 and 2, which are significant coincident magnetic and gravity anomalies identified in KRR’s 2023 geophysical survey. These targets remain untested and are considered highly prospective.
As interpretation of 2023 geophysical data and 2024 assay results continues, KRR anticipates generating additional drill targets. Further priority targets under evaluation include Rover East (BIF Hill East, Anomaly 5, and Explorer 42), Pioneer (Areas 1 and 2), a magnetic anomaly on EL31623, and several Barkly magnetic and VTEM anomalies.
