Highlights
- Maiden 17-hole scout drilling launched at the North Bermol prospect to test gold-bearing shear and fault zones.
- Surface rock samples returned high-grade assays, including up to 36.7 g/t Au and 44.7 g/t Ag.
- Exploration pipeline advancing with drilling at Sua scheduled for October and Kwaplu later in the same month.
Far East Gold Limited (ASX:FEG) has commenced maiden drilling at the North Bermol prospect, following encouraging results from surface mapping and rock sampling. The company has outlined a 17-hole scout drilling program designed to test the potential of gold-bearing structures at the prospect within the Idenburg Project.

High-Grade Surface Sampling Results
Recent surface sampling campaigns have returned high-grade assays from quartz and sulphide-rich shear zones. Results included up to 36.7 g/t gold (Au) and 44.7 g/t silver (Ag), alongside other notable gold values such as 34.05 g/t Au, 21.21 g/t Au, and 18.62 g/t Au from surface rock samples.
These findings reinforce previously reported assays and highlight the corridor’s potential to host multiple mineralised zones and support further discoveries.
Maiden Drilling Program Details
The initial drilling will cover 17 holes totalling 865m. The program has been designed to test mapped shear and fault zones that coincide with high-grade surface rock grab and chip samples. Mineralisation is hosted in northwest-trending shear and fault structures, consistent with regional structures identified by Murphy Geological Services.
Mapping and Structural Studies
The North Bermol prospect is believed to represent the northern extension of a structural corridor spanning approximately 4km. While the corridor trends northeast overall, mapping has identified important secondary northwest-trending shear zones, consistent with an independent structural study of the Idenburg property. According to FEG, understanding the relationship between these structures and gold mineralisation is critical to the company’s exploration efforts.
Recent detailed mapping has defined several gold-bearing shear and fault zones, which are now being targeted by the maiden drilling program. The company continues to conduct detailed mapping and rock sampling across North Bermol and other known gold-bearing prospects.
Exploration Pipeline
Alongside work at North Bermol, Far East Gold is advancing exploration at additional prospects within the Idenburg property.
A new access road is being cut, and drill rigs are being mobilised to the Sua prospect, a proven high-grade gold target with favourable historical results. Drilling at Sua is expected to commence in early October 2025.
Following completion of access works, the company also plans to initiate drilling at the Kwaplu prospect by the end of October 2025.
FEG shares were trading at AUD 0.13 per share at the time of writing on 22 September 2025.
