Highlights
- New gold mineralised quartz veins identified at North Bermol with assays up to 25.9 g/t gold and 7.8 g/t silver.
- Mapping confirms North Bermol is structurally linked to Bermol within a 4km-long mineralised corridor.
- Additional mapping and sampling planned at Nova and Tekai, targeting high-priority targets.
- Ongoing mapping and drilling aim to expand known gold mineralisation zones and identify additional zones within the Bermol prospect areas.
Far East Gold Limited (ASX:FEG) has identified new gold-mineralised zones at the North Bermol prospect, situated near ongoing drilling operations at the Bermol prospect.
Detailed geological mapping within the North Bermol area has defined mineralised quartz veins and boudins up to 1m thick. A grab sample yielded grades of up to 25.9 g/t of gold and 7.8 g/t of silver from sulphide-bearing (arsenopyrite/pyrite) quartz veins across a 15m exposed outcrop.
The shallow mineralisation, dipping at around 20 degrees, is consistent with the style previously identified at Bermol. The results suggest that both areas are part of a broader, northeast-trending structural corridor extending over 4km.
Significant Exploration Potential
The identification of new mineralised zones highlights the potential for additional discoveries across the structural corridor, enhancing the exploration upside at both Bermol and Idenburg.
Mapping results revealed sulphide-bearing quartz veins and boudins in northwest-trending structures at North Bermol, contrasting with the northeast-trending shear zones at Bermol. This difference in structural orientation opens new target areas for testing as part of the company’s Phase 1 drilling campaign.
Advancing High-Priority Targets
In addition to exploration at Bermol and North Bermol, the company is progressing work at other priority targets. These include the Nova area, located north of the Sua prospect, and the Tekai area, situated west of the Mafi prospect.
Historic surface sampling at Nova returned 3.9 g/t and 9.0 g/t gold over 1m. Meanwhile, chip sampling at Tekai delivered assays of 58.2 g/t and 79.8 g/t gold from sheared quartz veins located roughly 800m apart.
In November 2024, the company stated that mapping results confirm broader potential for high-grade mineralisation and expand resources across multiple zones within the project area.
Ongoing Detailed Mapping Program
Far East Gold is conducting an extensive geological mapping campaign at the Bermol prospect in parallel with drilling, aimed at defining new gold bearing zones. This approach is designed to accelerate exploration across the Bermol corridor.
North Bermol is interpreted as the northern extension of the larger structural corridor. Notably, the recognition of additional fault and shear zones with varying orientations is considered highly significant, as their timing and association with gold mineralisation may be key to unlocking additional exploration potential of the corridor.
Growing Confidence in Idenburg Project
The identification of new gold bearing zones at the North Bermol increases the company’s confidence in the potential of the Idenburg Project. Data from past studies, including SMGC’s Independent Exploration Target Report (August 2024), supports the interpretation of a large mineralised system with multiple potential targets.
The company will advance its mapping and sampling activities to outline extensions of existing mineralisation and identify further gold-bearing zones within the Bermol area.
Shares Up
