Highlights

  • Catalina has recommenced RC drilling at the Evanston Gold Project in Western Australia.
  • The Phase 1 program targets multiple prospects across Evanston and Yerilgee corridors.
  • Around 8,000 metres of RC and AC drilling are planned in the current campaign.
  • Assay results are pending and will be integrated into geological modelling to guide future drilling and refine target areas.

Catalina Resources Limited (ASX:CTN), an Australian diversified mineral exploration and mine development company, has recommenced reverse circulation (RC) drilling at its Evanston Gold Project, located in the Central Yilgarn region of Western Australia. The drilling restart marks the continuation of the company’s Phase 1 drilling campaign, which is designed to test priority structural and geochemical targets within the Evanston and Yerilgee corridors. Catalina has projects spanning gold, base metals, lithium, and iron ore.

Scope of the Phase 1 Program

The Phase 1 drilling program includes approximately 8,000 metres of combined RC and aircore (AC) drilling. At the Evanston area, drilling will focus on the Leghorn, Viper South, and T1B targets, while the Yerilgee area will see drilling across the T8, Chicken Little, and Snowflake prospects. These targets have been prioritised based on geological observations and earlier target definition work.

Drilling Execution and Sampling

To accelerate progress across multiple targets, Catalina plans to mobilise a second RC drilling rig. Drill samples are being collected continuously on a metre-by-metre basis and dispatched to the laboratory for analysis on a rolling schedule. Assay results are pending and would be incorporated into ongoing geological modelling to inform future drilling activities and refine target areas.

Reflecting on the development, Catalina’s Executive Director, Ross Cotton, commented: “Restarting drilling at Evanston and scheduled deployment of a second rig reflects the growing scale of opportunity we are seeing across the project area. With multiple priority targets now defined, we can advance drilling more rapidly and test several targets in parallel. Assay results will drive rapid follow-up drilling across the most prospective areas at Evanston and Yerilgee as the Company advances toward the next phase of exploration across these two projects”.
