Altech Batteries Limited (ASX:ATC, FRA:A3Y) has announced that its subsidiary, Altech Batteries GmbH, has received official notification from Germany’s Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy confirming its eligibility for a major government grant to advance its CERENERGY® battery project in Saxony, Germany.
The project has passed the second stage of approval process for a capital expenditure grant of €46.7 million, representing 30% of the project’s qualifying development costs. The funding is provided under Germany’s STARK program, a Federal Government initiative supported by the European Union to help coal-dependent regions transition to sustainable economic structures.
Conditional Approval
While the approval marks a significant milestone for the project, the grant remains conditional. Final confirmation is subject to overall project financial close, along with the allocation of funds in the German federal budget for 2026.
ATC shares were trading 3.03% higher at AUD 0.034 per share at the time of writing on 2 September 2025.
