Highlights

  • Victory Metals (ASX:VTM) produces high-grade mixed rare earth oxide at North Stanmore

  • The MREO was developed using proprietary processing without added capital expenditure

  • Further metallurgical work is underway targeting zirconium, hafnium, and scandium

Victory Metals (ASX:VTM), listed on the ASX 300, has advanced its rare earth strategy through the production of high-grade mixed rare earth oxide (MREO) at its North Stanmore Project in Western Australia. The result marks a significant technical achievement in Australia’s heavy rare earths industry.

The company confirmed the MREO contains a notable enrichment of heavy rare earth elements and is classified as the highest grade of its type among clay-hosted projects in the country.

Processing Success Without Additional Capital Input

Victory stated that the latest outcome validates its proprietary flowsheet, which enabled the generation of market-ready MREO without additional infrastructure for concentration or cracking. This cost-efficient result was achieved through a composite sample process involving hundreds of drill intercepts, representing the broader mineralisation footprint of North Stanmore.

According to the company, this places Victory at the most advanced downstream processing stage ahead of separation and metallisation, significantly reinforcing the asset’s strategic appeal.

Laboratory Collaboration Highlights Downstream Strength

The production work was conducted in collaboration with ALS Laboratories in Western Australia, alongside Victory’s technical team. The CEO said this advancement showcases a broad commercial representation of the orebody, reinforcing the value of the deposit and aligning with increasing global demand for ethical and traceable rare earth sources.

Victory’s announcement also highlighted strong early offtake engagement, now expected to accelerate following the MREO breakthrough.

Future Work Targets Hafnium and Additional Rare Earths

The company also noted that further metallurgical testwork is underway. This phase is focused on assessing the potential of zirconium-bearing byproducts found in leach residue. The scope includes recovery of hafnium, scandium, and other strategic heavy rare earths—elements that are gaining significance in global energy transition supply chains.

The International Energy Agency has outlined that global supply dynamics in rare earths remain concentrated, with Australia forecast to play a growing role. Victory’s advancement may contribute to easing that concentration by enhancing local downstream capabilities.

What has Victory Metals produced at its North Stanmore Project?

Victory Metals has produced mixed rare earth oxide (MREO), a high-value intermediate product enriched in heavy rare earths.

Where was the MREO processing carried out?

The MREO was developed at ALS Laboratories in Western Australia in conjunction with Victory’s technical team.

What further developments are expected at North Stanmore?

Ongoing metallurgical work is targeting the recovery of hafnium, scandium, and additional rare earth elements from zirconium-rich leach residues.
