Surefire Resources identifies extensive sulphide mineralisation at its Yidby Gold Project
Drilling advances at Marshall and Fender with visible pyrite and chalcopyrite zones
Exploration expands toward the Money Anomaly to test high-priority targets
Surefire Resources NL (ASX:SRN), listed on the All Ordinaries, continues to progress its exploration campaign at the Yidby Gold Project in Western Australia. The company has intercepted new sulphide-rich zones that could broaden the known mineralisation footprint at the project’s Marshall and Fender prospects.
The current reverse circulation (RC) drilling program has advanced across multiple drill targets, with a focus on infill and extension zones. The latest intercepts have highlighted continuous sulphide mineralisation, suggesting promising geological continuity.
Sulphide Intercepts Highlight Mineralised Potential
At the Marshall and Fender prospects, recent drill activity has delivered encouraging results. In particular, one hole encountered a lengthy interval of visible sulphide mineralisation, dominated by pyrite and chalcopyrite hosted within quartz porphyry. These intercepts were observed at moderate depths, supporting the project's exploration thesis.
Surefire’s geological team is evaluating these sulphide zones in the context of broader mineralisation trends across the Yidby region. The aim is to define additional mineralised corridors that may support resource growth.
Project Advancement Supported by Timely Drilling and Sampling
The company has completed drilling across fifteen RC holes, with further holes planned under a broader campaign consisting of over forty planned drill holes. Managing director Paul Burton confirmed that activities are progressing on schedule, and a large number of samples have already been sent for fire-assay testing.
The next phase of activity involves assay analysis from the laboratory, which will contribute to geological modelling and planning of future drill locations. The steady advancement of exploration without significant delays has helped maintain momentum at the project.
Expansion Plans Focus on New Zones and the Money Anomaly
Beyond Marshall and Fender, the company is now preparing to move drill operations toward the central Yidby Gold Zone. This will be followed by exploration at the Money Anomaly, a structural target identified through geophysical analysis situated south of the current prospects.
The Money Anomaly presents a high-priority exploration target that could further extend the mineralised system at Yidby. Its location and structural setting align with previously defined mineralised trends, enhancing the project's overall footprint.
Next Steps and Exploration Outlook
A total of several hundred samples have been dispatched for analysis, with more expected to be submitted soon. Initial assay outcomes are anticipated in the coming weeks and will guide the company's ongoing geological evaluation and drill targeting.
