Highlights
Solis defines three high-priority drill targets at Cinto following geophysical surveys
IP data supports maiden drill campaign with permitting under Peru’s streamlined process
Exploration efforts continue across multiple copper-gold projects in Peru
Copper-focused Solis Minerals Ltd (ASX:SLM) has reported the identification of three priority copper-gold drill targets at its Cinto Project in southern Peru. The update places the company in focus on the All Ordinaries index as it continues to expand its regional exploration footprint.
The recent development follows the completion of an Induced Polarisation (IP) survey that complements earlier geochemical and magnetic work, forming a cohesive basis for the company’s maiden drill program expected in the final quarter of the year.
IP Survey Supports Subsurface Understanding
The geophysical program at Cinto consisted of multiple IP survey lines designed to map chargeability and resistivity features across the project area. Processing of the data revealed two distinct chargeability zones, each correlating with structural trends within the Incapuquio Fault Zone.
These zones also align with surface expressions of copper breccia and previously detected magnetic lows, offering a layered and well-supported geophysical interpretation of the mineralised system. The integrated dataset supports the strategic targeting of drilling sites, helping to define specific zones of interest.
Three Copper-Gold Targets Identified
Based on the results, Solis has delineated three distinct targets for its initial drilling phase:
-
Target A: Defined by a strong chargeability response paired with phyllic alteration and a low magnetic signature. It sits to the northwest of previously mapped geochemical anomalies.
-
Target B: Located beneath geochemical Channels 1 to 4, characterised by consistent low magnetic features and underlying phyllic alteration.
-
Target C: Situated in the vicinity of Channels 6 to 10, showing comparable geophysical patterns to other defined targets and underlain by breccia zones.
These target areas will serve as the core focus for the company’s upcoming exploration drilling.
Permitting and Field Preparations Underway
With defined targets in place, Solis is moving forward with project logistics in preparation for drilling. The company is currently navigating the accelerated Ficha Technica Ambiental (FTA) permitting framework, which enables streamlined approvals for exploratory drilling.
Next steps include appointing a drilling contractor, initiating drill pad preparation, and mobilising field equipment once permits are secured. Up to twenty drill pads are planned for installation to support the maiden drill phase at Cinto.
What is the Cinto Project and where is it located?
The Cinto Project is a copper-gold exploration asset owned by Solis Minerals Ltd (ASX:SLM), located in southern Peru near the Toquepala Copper Mine.
What exploration work has Solis conducted at Cinto?
Solis has completed geophysical IP surveys at Cinto, identifying three priority copper-gold targets aligned with geological and geochemical indicators.
What are the next steps for Solis at the Cinto Project?
The company is finalising drilling permits under Peru’s FTA process, preparing drill pads, appointing contractors, and expects to begin drilling in the December quarter.
