Western Queen gold resource shows unexpected growth
Toll milling strategy gains momentum with nearby plants
Diversified portfolio backed by zinc-lead project advancements
Rumble Resources (ASX:RTR) has unveiled a substantial resource update at its Western Queen Gold-Tungsten Project in Western Australia. This latest development has exceeded previous expectations and is reshaping the company’s approach to project development.
The updated mineral resource, reflecting both higher grade and expanded tonnage, has prompted a strategic pivot. Rumble is now a underground mining focus, or a combination of open pit and underground methods. This reassessment comes in light of updated cost estimates and geological remodelling, which highlighted new high-grade zones.
The company had initially forecast a modest increase based on earlier drill results. However, once the wireframing and cut-off grades were re-evaluated, the data revealed stronger-than-anticipated continuity at depth, justifying a broader development approach.
Toll Milling Becomes a Central Option
With five operational processing facilities located within a 200km radius of Western Queen, Rumble is actively pursuing toll milling arrangements. These discussions could play a key role in accelerating project timelines without requiring substantial upfront capital for processing infrastructure.
Toll milling offers the advantage of reducing project complexity and focusing resources on mine development and exploration. Rumble’s engagement with multiple parties highlights the growing interest in regional collaboration for gold projects.
The Western Queen site is also drawing favourable comparisons to Spartan Resources’ (ASX:SPR) Never Never Deposit, particularly in terms of structure and mineralisation style. These similarities may enhance the project's appeal and help attract strategic interest in the future.
Infill drilling is also on the company’s radar to convert more of the inferred resource into indicated status, allowing for improved modelling and mine planning accuracy.
Earaheedy Project Adds Portfolio Depth
Beyond gold, Rumble is progressing its Earaheedy Zinc-Lead Sulphide Project in Western Australia. The project features a significant inferred resource across zinc, lead, and silver, enhancing the company’s multi-commodity profile.
A Scoping Study for Earaheedy is nearing completion, with the company evaluating development pathways and partnerships to support future stages of the project. The scale and grade of the resource provide an for Rumble to emerge as a key player in both the gold and base metals segments.
