Highlights

  • Resolution Minerals (ASX:RML) appoints Clewett Global Services to support US government relations for Horse Heaven

  • The Idaho-based project aligns with US priorities for critical mineral supply chain development

  • Horse Heaven lies next to a major approved project, offering strategic positioning in antimony and tungsten resources

Resolution Minerals (ASX:RML), listed on the ASX 200, has partnered with Washington-based Clewett Global Services to strengthen its external affairs strategy. This move aims to position the company more favorably in discussions with US federal agencies, particularly in relation to its Horse Heaven antimony-gold-silver-tungsten project situated in Idaho.

Founded by seasoned executive Todd Clewett, the advisory firm brings extensive experience in advocating for resource companies at the highest levels of the US government. Mr Clewett previously led external affairs for Newmont (ASX:NEM) and Fortescue (ASX:FMG), and his experience is viewed as critical in navigating the complex policy environment surrounding critical minerals.

Critical Minerals and National Priorities

Resolution Minerals’ Horse Heaven project enters the spotlight as the US intensifies efforts to secure a domestic supply of strategic resources. The project is geologically adjacent to Perpetua Resources’ Stibnite site, a multibillion-dollar gold and antimony development recently granted final approval by the US Forest Service.

The focus on critical minerals such as antimony and tungsten stems from their classification as vital to defense, aerospace, and renewable technology sectors. These materials are increasingly prioritized by US policymakers, particularly in the wake of export restrictions imposed by China on key minerals, including gallium and tungsten.

Infrastructure Programs Under Review

Resolution Minerals is assessing eligibility for several federal initiatives that aim to expedite development timelines and enhance permitting efficiency. These include the FAST-41 program, which is designed to streamline the federal review process for large-scale infrastructure and resource projects.

The company is also exploring alignment with the US Department of Defense’s Title III and Industrial Base Analysis and Sustainment programs. These frameworks provide financial and logistical support to companies contributing to the security and reliability of critical material supply chains.

Leadership Perspective and Project Significance

According to Executive Director Aharon Zaetz, the engagement of Clewett Global Services reflects the project's strategic weight and aligns with broader geopolitical goals. Mr Zaetz emphasized that Horse Heaven’s geological features mirror those of the neighboring Stibnite project, indicating substantial promise in the context of national supply chain objectives.

He further remarked on Todd Clewett’s direct experience with White House-level policy circles, stating that the partnership reinforces the company’s efforts to establish itself as a trusted critical minerals contributor in North America.

National Policy Context Driving Demand

The escalation in government-level interest for critical mineral projects is rooted in broader geopolitical dynamics. With antimony and tungsten being essential for military and technological applications, the US administration has prioritized domestic and allied supply routes to counter potential vulnerabilities.

Resolution’s timely alignment with federal policy frameworks and its proximity to approved mineral operations place the Horse Heaven project in a strategically advantageous position, especially as national focus sharpens on securing long-term access to essential resources.
