Questcorp begins early-stage groundwork at La Union Project in Mexico
Field activities include mapping, sampling and induced polarisation surveys
Definitive option agreement signed with Riverside Resources to acquire the project
Mineral exploration company Questcorp Mining (CSE:QQQ) has commenced a phase-one exploration initiative at its La Union Project located in Sonora, Mexico. Operating within the broader North American mining landscape, Questcorp is undertaking preparatory fieldwork ahead of a drilling program set for later in the year.
The initiative forms part of Questcorp’s broader strategy to develop economically viable mineral projects across the region, focusing on both precious and base metals.
Picket Lines and Sampling Lay Foundation for Upcoming Drill Phase
Current fieldwork at La Union includes the establishment of several picket lines, each extending across a significant area to support induced polarisation (IP) surveying. These surveys are designed to enhance subsurface imaging and guide future drill pad positioning. Alongside these geophysical efforts, the team is actively collecting samples of limestone and dolomite formations known to host mineralised zones.
Geological mapping and both rock and soil sampling are also underway, which may help delineate further targets across the site. These activities aim to clarify the geological structure and better understand mineralisation controls across the project’s acreage.
Partnership with Riverside Resources Formalised
The groundwork comes shortly after Questcorp secured a definitive option agreement with Riverside Resources (TSX-V:RRI), allowing the acquisition of the La Union Project. Under the terms, Riverside retains equity involvement, while Questcorp assumes operational and financial responsibility to progress the project.
Riverside Resources has brought its technical expertise to the partnership. The project is led in the field by professionals with extensive experience in mineral exploration throughout Mexico. The collaboration is structured to ensure seamless knowledge transfer and local execution capacity.
La Union Hosts Carbonate Replacement Deposit Targets
The La Union Project spans an extensive land package covering a zone thought to contain carbonate replacement deposits (CRDs). This geological setting has historically supported significant mineral discoveries, and current mapping indicates the presence of favourable host rocks.
Questcorp’s geological model at La Union aligns with the view that the area may overlay a more extensive porphyry copper system. Field validation of this model will depend on both the success of the IP program and data gathered from drilling later in the year.
Questcorp Positions for Broader Regional Growth
While focused on its immediate milestones in Sonora, Questcorp maintains an overarching goal of expanding its asset base across North America. The company’s emphasis remains on discovering and developing resource-rich projects supported by disciplined technical planning and exploration activities.
