Power Metallic advances exploration at Nisk East while awaiting completion of Li-FT asset acquisition
Drilling targets defined through EM, LiDAR surveys and pending assays across multiple zones
Field mapping and geophysical work underway to support resource expansion between key zones
Canadian mineral exploration company Power Nickel Inc. (TSX-V:PNPN) is accelerating activity at its Nisk Project, a polymetallic system targeting copper, nickel, platinum group elements, gold, and silver. This initiative coincides with the company's ongoing acquisition of mineral claims from Li-FT Power Ltd. (TSX-V:LIFT), expanding its footprint across Québec. The project sits within the broader context of the All Ordinaries index, which includes diversified resource and exploration players.
The latest field activity includes drilling, geophysical surveys, and the mobilisation of new rigs across the project zones, supporting Power Metallic's aim to expand mineralised areas and prepare future resource estimates.
Drill Rigs Mobilised Across Multiple Zones
The company is currently operating three drill rigs with a fourth unit on the way, covering trail-accessible, helicopter-supported, and skid-based setups. A significant portion of the current campaign is focused on the Nisk East deposit, where drilling seeks to refine targets generated from recent borehole electromagnetic (BHEM) and airborne EM surveys.
Power Metallic is also aiming to better understand the geological continuity between the Nisk zone and the Lion Zone. Select drill holes in this campaign will be subject to core scanning and geochemical analysis (CHEM) to provide further clarity on mineralisation. Assay results from the initial three completed holes are pending.
Drilling Strategy Expands Lion and Tiger Zones
At the Lion Zone, two fly rigs are in operation with the goal of extending mineralisation down dip and down plunge toward the southwest, while also infilling within the existing deposit area. This section of the program follows a structured 100-by-100-metre grid informed by BHEM survey data, aiming to add tonnes to future resource assessments.
Meanwhile, the Tiger area is scheduled for exploration with one rig focused on undrilled targets. The objective is to extend known mineralisation and define a standalone resource. A fourth drill rig will focus on areas between Lion and Tiger, targeting gaps in coverage and testing zones highlighted in early 2025 program results.
Geophysical and Geological Surveys Underpin Targeting
Power Metallic’s near-term strategy is supported by ongoing airborne EM and LiDAR surveys, which will be combined with prospecting sample results to develop new drilling targets. This integrated approach aims to identify extensions and define resource growth zones more accurately.
Field teams are actively conducting detailed mapping and ground-level prospecting to support geological modelling efforts. These activities aim to build a clearer understanding of the overall mineralised system and assist in optimising the drilling approach across the newly acquired and existing tenements.
Expansion Supported by Pending Acquisition from Li-FT Power
The finalisation of Power Metallic’s acquisition of mineral claims from Li-FT Power is expected shortly. This deal will add substantial new ground to the company’s existing footprint at the Nisk Project. With drilling permits underway for these areas, the company expects to include them in the current exploration phase.
