Pacgold receives new drilling results from Alice River Central target in Queensland
Field season underway with drilling across multiple regional targets
Geophysics program launched to investigate southern Alice River Fault extensions
Pacgold Ltd (ASX:PGO), listed on the All Ordinaries, is progressing its gold exploration activities at the Alice River Gold Project in Queensland. The project, located in the Northeast Queensland Mineral Province, sits within a region renowned for its prolific gold production, hosting several significant deposits such as Ravenswood and Kidston.
Recent results from a reverse circulation drilling campaign have highlighted encouraging mineralisation at the Central target, aligning with expectations and validating the company’s geological interpretation of the area.
Drilling Program Returns Broad Mineralised Intercepts
Pacgold has received assays from nineteen drillholes at the Central target, revealing broad zones of gold mineralisation. The intercepts indicate shallow bulk-tonnage style mineralisation with isolated higher-grade zones. The results provide further support for the resource development potential within the mineralised domain of the Alice River Fault Zone.
This drilling campaign is part of a broader strategy to investigate multiple targets along strike, with a focus on expanding the known footprint of mineralisation and defining structural controls on gold distribution.
Step-Out and Regional Drilling in Full Swing
The current field season includes an extensive drilling schedule across five priority targets: The Shadows, Posie, Jerry Dodds, Victoria, and new areas identified through previous aircore drilling. Approximately seventy holes are planned to be completed during this campaign before a follow-up program is designed.
A diamond drill rig is set to arrive in July to gather structural and metallurgical data, while an aircore rig is expected to begin geochemical drilling across regional areas. These combined activities aim to provide a clearer geological understanding of the mineralised corridor.
Geophysics Program Covers Southern Fault Extensions
Pacgold has commenced a comprehensive induced polarisation geophysical survey focused on the southern extensions of the Alice River Fault Zone. The survey spans from the Victoria target southeast to the White Lion prospect, covering areas that have seen limited historical exploration.
Preliminary geophysics data is expected by the end of June, with the program scheduled to continue through to late July. The results will be integrated with drilling data to refine ongoing exploration models and inform planning for the remainder of the field season.
Expanding Exploration Footprint Across the Alice River Corridor
The Alice River Project encompasses a significant land package with thirty kilometres of gold-prospective strike length across more than three hundred square kilometres of granted permits and mining leases. This strategic ground position allows for continued exploration along an underexplored structural corridor with known mineralisation.
Pacgold’s approach integrates geological, geochemical, and geophysical methods to systematically investigate the scale of the mineral system. With fieldwork commencing earlier this year and funding secured, the company plans to continue drilling activities through the end of the year.
