Novo Resources targets Sherlock Crossing and Southeast Wyloo for new exploration
Gold and antimony projects broaden with Northern Star joint venture involvement
Balla Balla and Teichman prospects reinforce geological potential in Pilbara
Exploration company Novo Resources Corp (ASX:NVO), listed on the ASX 300, has outlined an intensified exploration roadmap across its extensive Pilbara landholding. The company is focusing efforts on high-grade gold and gold-antimony prospects, reinforcing its commitment to strategic development in Western Australia during the second half of the year.
Key exploration targets include Sherlock Crossing and Southeast Wyloo, supported by advanced geological surveys and regulatory clearances. These programs are being conducted alongside collaborative exploration at the Egina Gold Camp under a joint venture arrangement.
Sherlock Crossing to Undergo Targeted Drilling
At the Sherlock Crossing gold-antimony site, Novo Resources has defined a broad anomaly supported by historical sampling and geophysical interpretations. The geological footprint comprises a sheared ultramafic unit, where prior rock samples have shown high-grade readings. The company has received heritage and compliance approvals, enabling the next phase of exploration drilling to proceed.
Novo’s focus at this prospect is to determine the spatial extent and mineral composition of the soil anomaly, with drilling planned to test for economic mineralisation in the sheared zones.
Mapping and Sampling at Southeast Wyloo
The Southeast Wyloo project, another critical asset in Novo’s portfolio, is set to undergo detailed surface evaluation during the same period. This includes systematic mapping and rock chip sampling designed to refine its understanding of gold, antimony, silver, and copper mineralisation.
This work builds upon previous reconnaissance efforts which identified strong metal presence across various elements. The Southeast Wyloo program is integral to shaping drill designs and follow-up initiatives later in the year.
Balla Balla Project Yields Multi-Element Zones
Novo has also advanced activities at the Balla Balla Gold Project, situated along the Sholl Shear Zone. Recent aircore drilling identified wide zones of low-level gold values and multi-element signatures including silver, copper, antimony, and bismuth.
The Balla Balla results indicate a hydrothermally active corridor, offering additional follow-up targets for extended testing. This area complements Novo’s broader strategic exploration objectives in the Pilbara region.
Egina JV with Northern Star Gains Momentum
Northern Star Resources Ltd (ASX:NST), a constituent of the ASX 50, is progressing its joint venture review at the Egina Gold Camp. The area, located near established gold operations, has previously demonstrated similar geological structures and mineralisation patterns.
The collaboration allows for significant capital input from Northern Star, which is reviewing prior data to develop exploration plans. This includes potential work at the Becher Project and neighbouring zones within the Egina tenure.
Teichman Prospect Adds Low-Impact Exploration Scope
The Teichman gold prospect, part of Novo’s Egina Gold Camp and located within the Yandeyarra Reserve, has received clearance for low-impact fieldwork. Novo is preparing to commence surface sampling and mapping initiatives designed to inform future exploration phases.
This follows earlier work that recorded high-grade mineral occurrences, placing Teichman among the company's prospective sites for upcoming field campaigns.
Ongoing Campaigns Highlight Strategic Focus
Across its Pilbara landholding, Novo Resources is executing a multi-site exploration program aligned with geological and heritage frameworks. The combined efforts at Sherlock Crossing, Southeast Wyloo, Balla Balla, and Egina underscore the company’s expansive approach to mineral discovery.
