Lodestar Minerals (ASX:LSR), a company involved in exploration and development in the mining sector, has announced the resignation of its Chief Executive Officer, Ed Turner. Effective from the middle of May, Turner has decided to step down from his position for personal reasons. The company has expressed appreciation for his leadership, especially highlighting his role in overseeing the completion of the maiden drilling program at the Darwin Project in Chile.
Turner, who has a background in geology and a wealth of experience across multiple aspects of the mining industry, leaves behind a legacy of significant contributions. His career spans over two decades in exploration management, underground mining, resource development, capital raisings, and acquisition and divestment activities. He has also offered to remain involved in a consulting capacity after his resignation to support the Darwin Project, underscoring his commitment to the project's ongoing progress.
Leadership Transition at Lodestar Minerals
In light of Turner’s resignation, Ross Taylor, who currently serves as the non-executive Chairman of Lodestar, will take on the role of Executive Chairman. This change reflects the company’s strategy to maintain continuity in its leadership structure during this transitional period. In addition to the leadership shift, Coraline Blaud, who has been with the company and managed technical aspects of the recent drilling program in Chile, will step into the role of Head of Exploration.
Blaud’s oversight of the drilling program, which concluded in April, was instrumental in advancing the company's exploration efforts. The program involved extensive reverse circulation drilling and was extended due to the discovery of additional mineralisation at the site, marking a significant development for Lodestar’s exploration activities.
Ongoing Developments in Exploration
Lodestar Minerals remains focused on the exploration and development of its assets, particularly the Darwin Project in Chile. The completion of the recent drilling program was a crucial milestone for the company, as it provided valuable geological data that will inform future exploration strategies. The discovery of new quartz-calcite veins with copper and iron oxide mineralisation at surface suggests further exploration is necessary to fully assess the scope of the asset.
As part of its ongoing strategy, Lodestar is moving forward with the search for a new Technical Director. This individual will play a key role in supporting the company's strategic and operational goals, contributing to the successful execution of future exploration and development activities. The company is committed to ensuring that its leadership team remains aligned with its long-term objectives in the mining sector.
