Kingsland Minerals nears completion of its Scoping Study for the Leliyn Graphite Project
Purified, spherical graphite testwork and planning for onsite processing facility underway
Prefeasibility Study to follow with potential for Darwin-based downstream operations
Kingsland Minerals Ltd (ASX:KNG), part of the All Ordinaries index, is progressing its flagship graphite project in the Northern Territory as the company approaches the finalisation of a Scoping Study for its Leliyn Graphite Project. The study evaluates the feasibility of establishing a mining and onsite processing facility to produce graphite concentrate.
Located within a region hosting extensive graphitic schist, the Leliyn Project is central to Kingsland's graphite exploration strategy in Australia. The company is currently focused on resource classification and infrastructure design to support graphite extraction and processing.
Scoping Study Targets Onsite Processing for Graphite Concentrate
The Scoping Study being finalised outlines a proposed facility to process up to one million tonnes of ore annually. Kingsland Minerals is assessing the viability of such infrastructure, with the scale currently informed by available indicated mineral resources. The scope of this study is pivotal to the next development phase and will define the pathway toward project scalability.
The company has confirmed that purified, spherical graphite testwork is also being finalised. These results will feed directly into the next development milestones, supporting a clear understanding of the output quality and downstream processing options.
Pathway to Prefeasibility and Resource Expansion
Following the completion of the Scoping Study, Kingsland is expected to launch a Prefeasibility Study (PFS) to further refine and evaluate the production of graphite concentrate. This phase will carry a higher level of resource confidence and will assist in aligning infrastructure development with economic and logistical assessments.
To support long-term scalability, additional drilling may be conducted to expand the volume of indicated resources. This would provide the flexibility to increase the size of the mine and processing plant, based on updated resource modelling and operational planning.
Downstream Processing Under Review for Darwin Facility
Alongside its in-field development, Kingsland is collaborating with Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners to evaluate the potential for an advanced processing facility in Darwin. This plant would be designed to process Leliyn’s graphite concentrate into purified, spherical graphite, further supporting Australia's role in the critical minerals supply chain.
These plans are expected to progress concurrently with the PFS, aligning upstream resource development with downstream processing capability. Kingsland’s integrated strategy across exploration, processing, and infrastructure development positions the company to build momentum in the domestic graphite market.
