Highlights:

  • Power Nickel (TSXV:PNPN) confirms first Lion-style mineralisation at the Nisk Project in Québec

  • Drilling reveals substantial polymetallic grades in both Lion Zone and Nisk East Zone

  • Core facility expansion underway with a ramp-up to multiple rigs for the spring-summer campaign

Power Nickel Inc. (TSXV:PNPN), listed on the TSX Venture Exchange, has reported new mineralisation results from its ongoing drilling program at the Nisk Project in Québec. These results mark the company’s first encounter with Lion-style mineralisation and signal progress in its nickel-copper sulphide exploration activities. This announcement adds further momentum to the broader battery metals segment, which continues to gain traction among ASX 200-listed mining and exploration peers (ASX 200).

Lion-Style Mineralisation Confirmed at Nisk East

The final group of eleven drill results from the Lion Zone and Nisk East Zone includes a notable intersection from drillhole PMN-25-004 at Nisk East. This hole intercepted Lion-style mineralisation located on the stratigraphic footwall of an ultramafic sill, showing geological similarities to the Lion Zone setting. Additionally, the mineralisation extended into the ultramafic sill, also revealing nickel-copper sulphide features aligned with known Nisk-style characteristics.

High-Grade Polymetallic Zones in the Lion Zone

Two drillholes completed in the Lion Zone returned zones rich in multiple metals. These intervals contained gold, silver, copper, palladium, and platinum, with concentrations consistent with polymetallic systems. The results suggest a westward plunge in the high-grade segment of the Lion Zone stratigraphy. This directional shift is scheduled for further drilling in the early stages of the spring and summer exploration phase.

Spring-Summer Drilling Campaign to Expand Exploration

Power Nickel is preparing for an expanded drill campaign across its Québec-based asset. The company is upgrading its core facility to support up to two active drills, with an anticipated ramp-up to four rigs before the end of the current month. The early stages of the campaign will centre on expansion of the Lion Zone, followed by drilling aimed at assessing the continuity and orientation of the mineralised trend between the Lion and Nisk zones.

Focus on Structural Connections and Regional Trends

The drilling strategy aims to investigate the structural relationship between Nisk East and the Lion Zone, particularly in areas where Lion-style and Nisk-style mineralisation may overlap or align. A series of follow-up drillholes will also explore the broader Tiger trend, another mineralised zone within the region that may share similar geological signatures.

Battery Metals at the Core of the Nisk Project

The Nisk Project is characterised as a nickel-copper sulphide system that also includes palladium, platinum, cobalt, and gold. These elements are key components in battery and clean energy technologies. The presence of ultramafic sills, stratigraphic traps, and multi-metal sulphide zones underscores the geological complexity and richness of the region.

As Power Nickel continues to expand its exploration footprint across Québec, its activities highlight ongoing interest in nickel and copper deposits, contributing to sectoral growth in North American mining.
