Emeco Holdings enters five-year partnership with XCMG Mining Equipment Australia
Force Equipment to deliver national aftersales services for XCMG’s mining fleet
Collaboration includes electric fleet readiness and support for zero-emissions machinery
Emeco Holdings (ASX:EHL), a company listed on the ASX 200 Index, operating within the mining services sector, has announced a long-term agreement with XCMG Mining Equipment Australia. The five-year arrangement will see Emeco’s subsidiary, Force Equipment, become the preferred provider of maintenance and support services for XCMG’s fleet in the Australian mining industry.
The collaboration between the two entities is designed to service an expanding portfolio of equipment used by large-scale miners, including Fortescue Metals Group (ASX:FMG), which is also part of the ASX 200 Index. This agreement reflects a strategic move to deliver end-to-end aftersales support for heavy machinery ranging from lifting and earth-moving equipment to excavators and road construction units.
Scope of Services Delivered Across National Operations
Under the agreement, Force Equipment will provide a range of critical services to XCMG, including equipment commissioning, on-site and off-site maintenance, labour provision, warranty support, and engineering capabilities. The company will also oversee project management and offer operational advisory services as part of the integrated service model.
The agreement leverages Force’s national infrastructure, with workshop facilities situated in all major mining regions across the country. These facilities will work alongside XCMG’s technical teams, tapping into the manufacturer’s parts supply and equipment inventory. The structure of the partnership aims to deliver consistent uptime and operational efficiency for XCMG’s mining clients in Australia.
Support for Electric Mining Equipment and Zero-Emissions Strategy
A central feature of the agreement involves supporting XCMG’s transition toward electric mining equipment. Emeco and XCMG plan to jointly develop capabilities around electric fleet technologies, with an emphasis on deploying battery-electric machinery suited for long-term mining operations.
Initial deliveries of XCMG equipment to Australian sites are scheduled for arrival in the coming year, with support infrastructure already being established through Force Equipment’s footprint. This forms part of XCMG’s broader initiative, following a previous supply contract with Fortescue’s subsidiary for zero-emissions heavy mobile units to be used in Pilbara mining operations.
Strengthening Maintenance Leadership in Mining Sector
According to Emeco, Force Equipment is regarded as one of the largest component rebuild and maintenance service providers within Australia’s mining services ecosystem. With dedicated facilities and workforce across all key regions, Force is positioned to meet the scale and complexity of services required by XCMG and its clients.
The collaboration also marks Emeco’s entrance into the battery-electric space, aligning with broader trends across the sector focused on innovation and sustainability. By forming a direct partnership with a global manufacturer such as XCMG, Emeco reinforces its commitment to supporting evolving mining technologies.
