Connected Minerals (ASX:CML) to initiate maiden exploration at Pallingup in Western Australia
Magnetic survey indicates presence of carbonatites linked to rare earths and mineral sands
Civilisation Bore and Mt Genoa results prompt company-wide portfolio review
The resources sector continues to draw attention on the ASX 200, with Connected Minerals Ltd (ASX:CML) progressing developments at its Western Australian tenements. The company is preparing for a maiden exploration program at the Pallingup Project, located in the Great Southern Region. This area has been earmarked due to its geology, which may support the presence of rare earth elements and heavy mineral sands.
The Pallingup site spans a granted exploration licence and an adjacent application licence covering several sub-blocks. The exploration initiative is scheduled to commence following the local cropping season, with commencement expected early the following year. Preparations are underway to secure land access arrangements with regional freehold landowners.
Survey Data Indicates Carbonatite Presence
Connected Minerals reported findings from a proprietary total magnetic intensity aeromagnetic survey. The data interpreted up to two carbonatite structures across the Pallingup tenure. These formations are often associated with rare earth mineralisation. The geological team identified these features as core indicators to move forward with exploration planning.
The company has confirmed that the survey information aligns with its ongoing strategy to examine underexplored greenfields regions across Western Australia. With cropping activities in the region limiting field access for parts of the year, Connected is advancing negotiations to finalise logistics before the next available exploration window.
Progress Across Multi-Commodity Portfolio
While the focus shifts to Pallingup, Connected Minerals has also been assessing other tenements within its Western Australian asset base. A multi-element sampling program was recently completed at the Civilisation Bore and Mt Genoa Projects, located in the Pilbara region. Results from this sampling did not yield expected outcomes.
In response, the board has initiated a complete review of these assets, including future budget allocations. The company has acknowledged that ongoing evaluation is critical to streamline its activities and direct exploration efforts efficiently.
Namibian Uranium Remains a Strategic Focus
Beyond Australian projects, Connected Minerals maintains exploration rights for uranium resources in Namibia. These assets remain part of the broader multi-commodity strategy managed by the company. While immediate efforts are concentrated on Western Australian prospects, Namibian uranium remains integrated within the company’s long-term portfolio.
Across its various projects, Connected Minerals continues to align its field activities with seasonal and logistical considerations. The summer months in Western Australia, post-cropping season, are typically the preferred window for active exploration. For the Pallingup Project, this aligns with the planned start date contingent upon access agreements.
Strategic Positioning Within ASX Resource Market
As developments unfold, Connected Minerals (ASX:CML) remains engaged in a sector that frequently features on the ASX 200 radar for resource-driven activity. The company's diversified project base in both Australia and Africa underscores its approach in navigating the exploration landscape, where geological evaluations and structural interpretations guide field operations.
