Highlights

  • LinQ Minerals (ASX:LM1) initiates IPO to accelerate gold-copper exploration at Gilmore Project

  • Gilmore Project spans extensive landholding within New South Wales’ Macquarie Arc mineral province

  • Initial drilling to focus on brownfield and new porphyry-copper and epithermal-style prospects

The mining and exploration sector welcomed new momentum as LinQ Minerals Ltd (ASX:LM1) launched its initial public offering with plans to list on the ASX 200. The company aims to use the proceeds to advance gold and copper exploration at the Gilmore Project, located in New South Wales’ Macquarie Arc. This mineral-rich district is already home to globally recognised mines including Cadia, Cowal and Northparkes, adding weight to the regional interest surrounding the launch.

With a portfolio covering a large area between Temora and West Wyalong, LinQ Minerals controls multiple exploration licences. These are distributed across geologically significant terrain, known for hosting porphyry and epithermal-style mineral systems. The Gilmore Project’s proximity to producing assets in the same corridor further enhances its relevance within the regional exploration narrative.

Exploration Campaign to Focus on Southern Startup Zone

The company plans to commence drilling immediately, starting with over a dozen identified porphyry and epithermal-style targets. Among the core priorities is the Southern Startup zone, which encompasses the historically mined Gidginbung deposit and the Dam porphyry system. Gidginbung previously saw production activity in the late twentieth century and now sits at the center of renewed technical evaluation.

These areas feature shallow resource estimates with mineralisation open along strike and at depth. LinQ Minerals intends to deploy exploration funding towards expanding known zones and understanding structural controls governing gold and copper systems within the tenement. Preliminary geological models point to a multi-phase mineralisation system typical of the broader Macquarie Arc.

Southern Startup Resource Forms Foundation for Development Studies

The Southern Startup zone includes a sizeable mineral resource defined across two main deposits. This segment, with past mining history and current exploration relevance, is undergoing technical reviews to determine future progression strategies. Studies under review focus on potential extraction scenarios and economic pathways, with attention on the mineralisation footprint and geological setting.

Beyond the brownfield prospects, the project hosts numerous undrilled anomalies mapped through prior surface sampling and geophysical surveys. LinQ Minerals has flagged these zones for phased drill testing as part of its broader growth strategy across the Gilmore corridor.

Board Assembles Mining Leadership and Technical Expertise

LinQ Minerals is guided by a leadership group with extensive mining sector backgrounds. The executive team includes professionals with history in corporate finance and project development across multiple jurisdictions. The board composition integrates exploration, metallurgy, and operations experience aimed at managing the company’s resource assets.

Operational direction is provided by geological staff who have worked on the Gilmore Project for an extended period. Their local knowledge and familiarity with the terrain are expected to support efficient deployment of exploration plans across the licences.

Drilling Set to Unlock Additional Porphyry and Epithermal Prospects

Over a wide strike length, the Gilmore Project features numerous porphyry and epithermal-style prospects that remain underexplored. These zones were delineated during earlier phases of geological mapping and form the basis for near-term field activity. The initial campaign will address central and southern tenement areas, including revisiting older prospects and generating fresh geological data to guide future work.

LinQ Minerals (ASX:LM1) is positioning itself to become a notable player in the New South Wales resource sector, backed by its landholding, defined resources, and planned drilling strategy. The IPO opens a new chapter in the advancement of the Gilmore Project as part of the broader activity within the exploration segment of the ASX 200.
