Alchemy Resources (ASX:ALY) acquires complete iron ore rights at Bryah from joint venture partner
Project area features hematite and goethite-rich formations with historical high-grade results
Bryah Project lies near key infrastructure and major mining operations in Western Australia
Alchemy Resources (ASX:ALY), operating in the metals and mining sector, has assumed full ownership of the iron ore rights at its Bryah Project in Western Australia. With the final stake acquired from joint venture partner Carey Mining, the company now controls all aspects of iron ore exploration at the site. The ASX 200 has observed a renewed focus on resource developments, supported by activity among mining explorers such as ALY.
Situated in the mineral-rich Bryah Basin, the project includes approved work programs and completed heritage surveys. These developments set the foundation for an initial drill campaign aimed at understanding the depth and structure of mineralisation across the project area.
Geological Focus on Valley Bore and Surrounding Prospects
The Valley Bore prospect remains the central point of iron ore focus within the Bryah Project. Alchemy Resources has previously conducted reconnaissance mapping and rock-chip sampling, revealing elevated iron content from hematite-rich zones. Sampling at Northern Ridge identified hematite and goethite layers within banded iron formations that stretch across significant surface widths.
Southern Ridge features a distinct hematite unit extending for several hundred metres. Rock-chip collection across this location has confirmed the presence of high-grade mineralisation. Additionally, the Old Highway target has demonstrated elevated iron concentrations associated with a fold hinge to the east, adding to the geological complexity and interest within the area.
These observations collectively highlight the broad distribution of iron ore-bearing formations across the Bryah tenements.
Royalties and Logistics Enhancing Project Structure
As part of the acquisition agreement, Alchemy provided both a cash component and a gradational royalty based on iron ore pricing thresholds. These royalties are structured to adjust based on iron ore sale prices on a freight-on-board basis.
The Bryah Project holds a strategic location close to major infrastructure, including proximity to the Great Northern Highway. This access supports future logistical planning and enables efficient movement of materials when operations commence. The project's landholding lies along a geological corridor that hosts significant deposits, with neighbouring tenements including discoveries by companies such as Sandfire Resources (ASX:SFR).
Broader Project Context and Exploration Activity
Alchemy Resources retains exposure to multiple exploration fronts across New South Wales and Western Australia. In the Bryah Basin, the company holds interests not only in iron ore but also across gold and base metal tenements. The Hermes deposit within the project retains a net smelter royalty structure, relevant for gold production milestones. Previous collaboration with Sandfire Resources (ASX:SFR) further expanded the project's scope before Alchemy acquired additional rights last year.
The Bryah Project comprises an extensive landholding and remains a central pillar of Alchemy’s Western Australian operations. Exploration activities continue to build on past geological data, integrating new sampling and structural mapping to refine future drilling targets.
With broader market attention on key resource developments, the progress at Bryah contributes to activity within the materials sector, supporting ASX 200 resource-linked companies.
