  • Gold-rich rock samples boost confidence at Francis Creek

  • Drone survey scheduled to guide upcoming drill targets

  • Exploration expands to multiple zones within Ravenswood Project

Sunshine Metals (ASX:SHN) has kicked off a fresh phase of exploration across the Francis Creek area within its Ravenswood Consolidated Project in Queensland. This step follows a successful round of rock chip sampling, revealing strong gold indicators that point to a valuable vein system beneath the surface.

Focus Sharpens on Francis Creek

The current work is concentrated at the Sybil prospect, specifically targeting the Francis Creek zone. Here, Sunshine Metals has launched its first round of mapping and sampling to understand the geological structure. The company has confirmed the presence of gold-bearing veins that stretch across a significant portion of the site, reinforcing the exploration of the region.

In addition to Francis Creek, field teams are also working on nearby targets including the Francis Creek East and Burdekin Veins areas. These zones are undergoing reconnaissance-level mapping and sampling as part of a broader plan to identify and prioritise areas for more advanced work.

Technology to Shape the Next Steps

A drone-based topographic survey is scheduled to take place later this month. This survey aims to deliver detailed elevation and surface data that will support drillhole planning and target definition. The high-resolution aerial imagery is expected to help Sunshine Metals design an effective drilling campaign by identifying structural features that could control the gold mineralisation.

The company has scheduled the drilling phase to begin in August. Insights gained from both mapping and drone surveys will guide where and how this drilling will be executed, ensuring a more strategic approach to subsurface exploration.

Sampling Results Boost Confidence

Recent sampling efforts have delivered several standout rock chip results, with multiple samples confirming the presence of gold. These results point to a continuous vein system that spans over hundreds of metres across the Francis Creek area. The geological continuity indicated by these results plays a crucial role in determining future drilling zones.

The evidence gathered from the rock samples further supports the broader geological model being developed by Sunshine Metals for the Ravenswood Consolidated Project. These early findings form a solid base from which to expand exploration and define more extensive mineralised zones.

Momentum Builds Across the Ravenswood Project

The Ravenswood Consolidated Project remains central to Sunshine Metals’ exploration activities. With several targets now under review and sampling returning encouraging signs, the momentum is building for the company. Each phase of work mapping, sampling, drone surveying, and eventual drilling contributes to a detailed understanding of the terrain and its mineral.

By combining modern survey techniques with traditional fieldwork, Sunshine Metals is taking a systematic approach to exploration. This methodical strategy aims to uncover the true scale of mineralisation in the region and determine the most promising areas for further focus.
