  • Brazilian Critical Minerals confirms rare earth extraction from ISR trials at Ema

  • Field trial success marks progress toward sustainable and low-impact recovery

  • Feasibility study and permitting activities set to advance project development

Rare earth exploration activity continues to gain traction, with Brazilian Critical Minerals Ltd (ASX:BCM) reporting progress on its flagship Ema Project. Operating within the All Ordinaries index, the company announced the successful extraction of rare earths from its in-situ recovery (ISR) pilot under active field conditions.

The Ema Project, located in Brazil, is emerging as a key development in the company’s portfolio. The announcement signals a further step in the evolution of ISR as an environmentally conscious recovery method within the broader critical minerals space.

In-Situ Recovery Validated Under Operational Conditions

Brazilian Critical Minerals has completed a phase of real-world testing that demonstrates the feasibility of ISR in the recovery of rare earths at the Ema site. According to the company, the trials confirmed the mobilisation and extraction of rare earth elements through low-concentration magnesium sulphate, reinforcing the project's focus on minimal environmental impact.

The use of this solution aligns with the company’s commitment to sustainable extraction practices. The outcome supports plans to incorporate ESG principles throughout the project’s lifecycle, with a strong emphasis on low-emission and chemically benign methodologies.

Feasibility Work and Offtake Discussions Underway

With field results now in hand, Brazilian Critical Minerals is expected to move forward with a Bankable Feasibility Study, along with the production of mixed rare earth carbonate for future offtake assessments. This product is intended to support engagement with interested parties across downstream rare earth supply chains.

In parallel, the company is initiating steps toward securing key mining and environmental permits. Coordination with state regulators in Brazil forms a core part of the next development phase, alongside financing and operational structuring efforts.

Focus on Strategic Minerals and Global Supply Chains

The Ema Project continues to attract attention due to its role in the rare earth segment—a critical component in the transition toward low-carbon technologies. Brazilian Critical Minerals is focused on capturing value from critical mineral assets in Brazil, targeting materials essential to clean energy systems and high-performance electronics.
