BMG Resources enters toll treatment deal with Wiluna Mining
Abercromby project ore to be processed at Matilda plant
Supports low-capex pathway for early-stage gold production
BMG Resources (ASX:BMG) has taken a significant step towards progressing its Abercromby gold project in Western Australia by entering into a toll treatment agreement with Wiluna Mining (WMX). The agreement allows BMG to process ore from its developing Abercromby site using Wiluna’s existing Matilda processing facility, situated approximately 20 kilometres away.
The Matilda plant operates a conventional carbon-in-leach (CIL) circuit and is already set up to treat both Wiluna’s internal feed and third-party ore. This setup positions it as a ready solution for BMG, as the company evaluates the most cost-efficient way to initiate production at Abercromby. This partnership is expected to form a key component of the ongoing scoping study aimed at evaluating a streamlined development path for the project.
Ore Processing Agreement with Wiluna Mining
Under the agreement, BMG will retain ownership of its ore during the entire process. Ore will be delivered to Matilda’s run-of-mine pad, after which Wiluna will manage the crushing, treatment, and subsequent transport of gold to a nominated refinery. The processing fees will be structured based on a fixed per-tonne rate, with adjustments tied to the gold price and ore quality.
Advancing the Abercromby Project
The Abercromby project is located on a granted mining lease, adding logistical simplicity and accelerating the route toward operational readiness. Supported by established regional infrastructure and now with a clear ore processing solution in place, the project is shaping into a promising low-capex development scenario.
Positioning for Gold Production
This agreement underscores a pivotal stage for BMG Resources as it transitions from explorer to gold producer. The collaboration with Wiluna Mining not only early-stage production planning but also aligns with current favourable market conditions in the gold sector.
BMG continues to advance its scoping study with a focus on maximising margin and operational simplicity. While the company is not among the, this latest move places it on the radar for those monitoring emerging developments within Australia’s gold mining landscape.
With the toll treatment arrangement secured and strategic groundwork in place, the path ahead for BMG Resources appears focused on realising near-term production goals from its Abercromby gold project.
