Askari Metals (ASX:AS2) has expanded its African exploration capabilities with the appointment of a new technical consultant. This move supports the company’s focus on the Nejo Gold Project in Ethiopia, where early-stage data has highlighted the for high-grade gold and copper mineralisation. The area remains largely underexplored using modern methods, and Askari is preparing to launch a maiden field campaign in the coming months.
Strengthening Technical Capacity for Exploration
The newly appointed consultant brings a deep background in mineral exploration, having worked for more than three decades across Australian and African projects. His experience spans the full exploration lifecycle from grassroots discoveries through to feasibility and development and includes work across a wide range of geological settings in Africa, including Zambia, Namibia, Botswana, and Kenya.

Nejo Project: A Promising Frontier in Ethiopia
Located within Ethiopia’s mineral-rich terrain, the Nejo Gold Project presents a significant for new discovery. Historical data has previously pointed to the presence of both gold and copper, but modern techniques have yet to be widely applied in the area. Askari Metals aims to leverage this untapped by implementing a structured exploration strategy guided by its growing technical team.
The Arabian-Nubian Shield — the geological setting in which Nejo is situated is known for hosting large-scale deposits of gold and base metals. While nearby regions have seen increasing exploration success, Ethiopia remains underexplored in comparison, offering a compelling for new projects to emerge.

The addition of the technical consultant underscores Askari’s long-term commitment to its African operations. His guidance will be key in shaping the exploration program, prioritising targets, and navigating the early stages of project development.
As groundwork continues at Nejo, Askari Metals remains focused on advancing its exploration goals while strengthening its presence in one of the world’s most prospective, yet underexplored, mineral belts.
