  • Asian Battery Metals expands high-grade copper-nickel zones at Oval discovery

  • Phase 3 drilling confirms continuity across North Oval and Oval gabbro system

  • Further surveys and drill targeting underway to explore broader Yambat potential

Asian Battery Metals PLC (ASX:AZ9), listed on the ASX 300, has expanded its high-grade copper-nickel sulphide zones at the Oval discovery within the Yambat Project in Mongolia. The company continues to focus on strategic battery metals exploration, aligning with the growing demand for electric vehicle and energy storage supply chains.

The results follow the completion of its Phase 3 drill program, designed to test the depth and strike of mineralisation in the Oval and North Oval areas of the project.

Drilling Confirms Depth and Strike Continuity of Sulphides

Recent drilling intersected high-grade copper and nickel mineralisation in key holes, including OVD036 and OVD040. These intercepts further extended mineralised zones, confirming significant down-dip and lateral continuity within the Oval system.

The outcomes affirm the geological model of a camp-scale magmatic sulphide system and build confidence in the potential scope of the Yambat discovery. Drill hole OVD036 provided critical depth extension data, while OVD040 yielded thick zones of disseminated and massive sulphides that also included platinum group elements and cobalt.

New Zones Indicate Wider Footprint Across Targeted Region

The mineralisation has now been delineated over an estimated stretch that links North Oval with the Oval gabbroic intrusion. While some intercepts returned slightly lower grades, holes OVD038 and OVD039 confirmed the presence of sulphides across important zones of the system.

These results suggest the mineralised system is semi-continuous and remains open in multiple directions, highlighting ongoing potential for further delineation.

Electromagnetic Surveys and Targeting Work Underway

Following the close of Phase 3, Asian Battery Metals has initiated ground-based SAMSON electromagnetic surveys across Oval and surrounding zones. The survey aims to refine the structure of known mineralised bodies and identify new conductive targets for follow-up drilling.

In parallel, metallurgical test work is progressing, with first-stage analysis planned for completion later in the calendar year. A high-resolution magnetic survey is also being executed over MS2 to support future drilling strategies.

Strategic Exploration Focuses on Critical Battery Commodities

Beyond Oval, the Yambat Project also includes the Copper Ridge copper-gold target. In addition, Asian Battery Metals is actively advancing its Khukh Tag graphite and Tsagaan Ders lithium projects in Mongolia, adding depth to its battery metals portfolio.
