AML3D appoints Arc Additive as UK and Europe distributor to advance ARCEMY platform
The company to establish European tech base following demand from UK defence
Strategic expansion aims to replicate US market growth across AUKUS-aligned regions
AML3D Ltd (ASX:AL3), part of the ASX 200, has moved to deepen its international footprint by naming Arc Additive as a non-exclusive distributor for the United Kingdom and Europe. The strategic partnership spans two years and aligns with AML3D’s broader expansion blueprint for the region, which includes supporting the AUKUS defence alliance and unlocking growth in industrial 3D printing.
Arc Additive is a Scotland-based supplier of large-scale metal 3D printing solutions that use wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) technology—matching the core strength of AML3D’s proprietary ARCEMY platform.
UK Defence and Manufacturing Demand Drive Growth Strategy
AML3D’s expansion into the UK and broader Europe follows growing interest from defence-related industries in the region. The company has observed strong demand signals from the UK defence market, similar to its early traction in the US, where it established a foothold with government and defence-related clients.
In line with these developments, AML3D has signed a feasibility contract with BAE Systems UK during the June quarter. This complements its prior strategic progress in the US and reflects its increasing focus on defence and energy markets.
Tech Expansion Mirrors Successful US Playbook
AML3D is actively replicating its successful US expansion model in Europe, which includes working with local distribution partners, opening regional technology centres, and integrating its manufacturing capabilities to support global defence initiatives.
Chief Executive Sean Ebert confirmed the company’s intent to establish a European technology base, similar to the one launched in Stow, Ohio. This infrastructure will be pivotal in scaling ARCEMY deployments across strategic markets. The expansion strategy also involves utilising AML3D’s manufacturing sites in Australia and planned operations in Europe to meet evolving customer needs.
Partnership Reinforces Innovation and Regional Capability
Arc Additive’s Managing Director, Jamie Mincher, praised the ARCEMY platform as a benchmark for industrial-scale manufacturing innovation. Mincher highlighted the collaboration as a major step in delivering new technological capabilities to manufacturers across the region.
The agreement positions AML3D to capitalise on industrial and defence sector digitisation efforts in the UK and continental Europe, supporting national initiatives around manufacturing localisation and resilience.
