Animoca Brands Signs A Strategic Partnership With The Chinese Company iClick

Animoca Brands signed a strategic partnership with iClick Interactive Asia Limited on December 11, 2018. As per the partnership deed, the Animoca will become a strategic reseller of iClick with an estimated initial revenue of A$11 million (approximately US$8 million) per annum.

Animoca Brands Corporation Limited (ASX: AB1) is one of the prominent players in the gaming business. The company develops and markets a portfolio of mobile games and apps. The company got listed in 2007.

Animoca Brands will take the lead in selling iClick’s online marketing solutions across the globe. iClick is China’s largest independent online market platform in terms of gross billing.

Animoca’s collaboration with iClick will lead to revenue generation in other parts of the gaming, media and technology ecosystem and it will also help the company to expand its footprint in China. Animoca Brands’ AI subsidiary Zeroth will leverage the data to both parties. Zeroth will help in the analysis and application of data through artificial intelligence systems and approaches.

Opportunities in China: There is a vast scope for marketing industry in China. In 2015, spending on Global advertising accounted for $503 Billion and in that China holds 12.2% which is approximately $70 Billion. The Chinese advertising spending is expected to reach $132 Billion by 2020. Currently, China owns 25% share in global game revenue.

iClick’s live database will assist clients to achieve the right target at the right time and place. It will profile the demographics of desired markets. It will assist in understanding the psychology of the audience. iClick will also measure the level of competition for desired audience segments and monitor the changes in audience segment over time.

The significant advantages of iClick are:

  • It enables publishers to manage their digital supply-side inventory. It supports both desktop and mobile inventory as well as multiple ad formats.
  • It allows marketers and business owners to make smarter digital marketing decisions. It also provides insights into audience segments relative to the business of both the clients and their competitors.

Due to this synergy, Animoca Brands will empower iClick to expand the scope of its activities in the gaming sector in international markets. Animoca Brands will provide its expertise in Mobile gaming, Blockchain, AI and International markets. Animoca can access the inventory of Tencent, which owns 51% of China’s mobile gaming market.

Financial Performance: The company generated an increase of 283% in the unaudited revenue of $4.6 million in the third quarter. The total unaudited revenues for the year to date represents an increase of 79% from $7.2 million last year to $12.9 million this year. The company reported cash and cash equivalents of $5.6 million in Q3 2018.

Stock Performance: In the last six months, the Animoca’s share price has shown an impressive positive return of 112 percent as on close of trading hours on 17th December 2018 and 12.36 percent up over the past one month. The company’s shares are trading at $0.099 with a market capitalization of $62.9 million.
