Unemployment Rate Dips to 5.2 per cent in November

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) has released the Labour Market data, indicating a 0.1 percentage points improvement to 5.2 per cent in trend unemployment rate during November 2019.

In November 2019;

  • The trend monthly employment increased by around 17k people.
  • Full time employment was up by around 8k people with around 9k gains in part time employment.
  • Monthly hours worked in all jobs increased by 2.9 million hours (seasonally adjusted).
  • Employment to population increased by 0.1 pts to 62.6 per cent (seasonally adjusted).
