Non-utility Retail Power Marketers electricity sales Witness Narrow Growth From 2013-Says EIA

The share of electricity sales served by the non-utility retail power marketers in the United States has witnessed an exponential growth from 2001-2013 before finally stabilising from 2013 to 2018.

  • The percentage of the United States retail electricity load sold by competitive suppliers finally stabilised around 20 per cent in 2013 to 2018 after witnessing a tremendous growth from less than 5 per cent in 2001.
  • The District of Columbia, along with 19 state, allow some commercial and industrial customers to choose competitive retail power marketers.
