Lynas Awarded Major Project Status by the Australian Government

Lynas Corporation Limited (ASX: LYC) has announced that it has been awarded Major Project Status by the Australian Government to set up its new Rare Earths processing plant in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia.

This project would be a foundation for the development of infrastructure in Kalgoorlie which includes utilities & the production of chemicals applied in minerals processing beyond the Rare Earths industry.

LYC would take the support of government & commercial partners in local infrastructure development. The project would also support the Critical Minerals Strategy of the Australian Government.

Further, the plant is anticipated to create up to 500 job opportunities during peak construction & increase LYC workforce in the Goldfields to more than 200 people.
