ABS: New Loan Commitments for Housing Surged by 4.4% in December 2019

As per the latest figures released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), the seasonally adjusted value of new loan commitments for housing improved by 4.4 per cent in December 2019.

In addition, the ABS notified the following:

  • Number of loan commitments to owner occupier first home buyers increased by 6.2 per cent in December.
  • The value of personal finance fixed term loan commitments surged by 3.5 per cent in December 2019, 7.9 per cent up on December 2018.
