Essendon midfielder Jye Caldwell has avoided an AFL suspension for striking Collingwood match-winner Nick Daicos on Anzac Day.

Caldwell punched Daicos in the chest after he was tackled to the ground by the young Magpies star.

The match review officer graded the incident intentional contact, low impact and body contact, which drew a $3000 fine.

The penalty can be reduced to $2000 with an early plea.

Daicos was not seriously hurt in the incident and had a huge say in Collingwood's 13-point comeback win, kicking two of their seven unanswered goals in the final quarter.

Caldwell is free to play in the Bombers' clash with Geelong on Sunday.

Hawthorn captain James Sicily and Adelaide forward Darcy Fogarty are challenging their charge of wrestling each other.

They will do so through written submissions to the AFL tribunal, which will not sit this week after all other players charged by the MRO in round six accepted their penalties.

Carlton forward Jesse Motlop copped a one-match ban for rough conduct over his sling tackle on St Kilda's Dougal Howard, while teammate Lewis Young accepted a $2000 fine for striking Saints utility Mason Wood.

GWS veteran Callan Ward received a one-match suspension for a dangerous tackle on Brisbane's Lachie Neale.

Port Adelaide captain Tom Jonas accepted his one-match ban for high contact with West Coast's Jai Culley when he chose to bump his opponent.
