Highlights

  • C29 Metals Limited (ASX: C29) is soon going to conduct an airborne geophysics survey at its Stadlers project.
  • The survey will facilitate identification of new exploration targets while enhancing the company’s understanding of the relation between structure and mineralisation at Stadlers.
  • The project-wide survey beginning 13 October should take around 3 days to complete, with the results coming within 30 days post completion.

C29 Metals Limited (ASX: C29) has announced that a project-wide aeromagnetic and radiometric survey is on the horizon for its Stadlers project (E08/3122). Located 60km south of Paraburdoo in the Ashburton Basin, Western Australia, Stadlers reportedly is highly prospective for structurally controlled epithermal copper deposits pertaining to the Capricorn Orogen.

Significance of airborne geophysics for the Stadlers project

For structurally controlled mineralisation such as that at Stadlers, having high-quality aeromagnetic data becomes important for comprehensive interpretation of the structural framework. While the current aeromagnetic and radiometric datasets for Stadlers are considered low resolution by modern exploration standards, still there is a noticeable correlation between copper geochemical anomalies and areas of structural complexity identified in the aeromagnetic data.

Source: Company update

The company believes that the upcoming survey will significantly cement their understanding of the relation between structure and mineralisation at Stadlers, resulting in identification of new exploration targets. Further, the new data will allow for more refined targeting of future electrical geophysical surveys, in turn leading to improved targeting of exploration drilling.

Important details of the upcoming survey

The planned survey will be conducted with a fixed-wing aircraft, which will be collecting data on a 50m north-south line-spacing, along with east-west tie lines at 500m spacing, totalling 1410-line kilometres. The sensor height will be 50m above terrain, and the sample rate for the magnetic component will be 20Hz, equalling nearly 3m sample intervals. The survey design, which spans across the entire exploration license, will take around three days to complete. The survey is slated to commence on 13 October, and the results are expected within 30 days post survey completion.

Soil geochemical sampling program also being planned

Meanwhile, the exploration team of C29 is also working out designs for a tenement-scale soil geochemical sampling program at Stadlers. Earlier soil geochemical work was limited in terms of scope and derived heavily from individual prospects with outcropping gossanous material. However, the new survey will adopt a wider approach while looking forward to generating novel targets for exploration in previously untested areas.

C29 stock last traded at AU$0.150 as on 10 October 2022.
