Monger Gold Limited (ASX:MMG) recently exercised the option to acquire 100% of the Brisk Lithium Project. This project is located in the prolific James Bay Lithium District in west-central Québec, Canada.

This project is suitably located along the trend from Patriot Battery Metals’ (TSXV:PMET) Corvette Project (80km east) and Winsome Resources’ (ASX:WR1) Cancet Project (15Km east). The Brisk Project stretches across six prospects over a significant project area extending 98.5km2. The project hosts multiple known pegmatite outcrops.

Inaugural exploration program at Brisk Project

MMG had also undertaken an inaugural exploration program and has developed a significant understanding of the Brisk Project. The program was aimed at testing and confirming multiple targets for their potential to contain lithium.

MMG had engaged Dahrouge Geological Consulting for undertaking the program and the ongoing geological services for the Brisk Project. The program comprised the extensive Helicopter supported surface exploration, prospecting and geochemical sampling.

Pending results from inaugural program

The rock chip assays for the inaugural program are currently pending. MMG now looks forward to a summary report and sample results, which are due in November 2022.

However, several additional pegmatite outcrops have also been identified. As a result, MMG plans to expedite its plans to undertake an additional field program before the onset of the Canadian winter season.

The Brisk Project was identified thanks to its prospective nature for hosting hard-rock, pegmatite-hosted lithium mineralisation using the proprietary targeting method. This comprises the review of pegmatite occurrences across the James Bay region of Québec with the suitable indicator-mineralogy for hosting spodumene-bearing pegmatites within favourable host rocks.

MMG shares traded at AU$0.400 on 12 October 2022.
