New Zealand’s biggest city Auckland is under a lockdown level-3 for seven days starting from February 28. The Prime Minister of New Zealand, Jacinda Ardern said that the lockdown was made necessary as one case of unidentified strain was found in the city. Rest of New Zealand is under lockdown level-2.

Two weeks before also a three-day lockdown was imposed on Auckland when a family of three members was declared COVID-19 infected with the UK mutant strain.
