As per Stats NZ, the prices given to dairy product manufacturers decreased steeply in the September 2020 quarter, overturning gains in the quarters of March and June. The dairy product manufacturing total output price index declined by 13% Q-o-Q. This steep decline was mainly due to higher freight costs, falling global demand, and challenges to businesses triggered by the COVID-19.
