Synlait has cut its forecast milk price for the year to May 31 from $7.25 per kilogram of milksolids to $7.05kg/MS. In an announcement to the NZX, Synlait Milk chief executive Leon Clement said the decision reflected the significant easing of dairy prices this year.

Manuka honey exporter Comvita has resusitated its earlier plans to raise capital with a fully underwritten $50m placement and rights issue. Comvita said it planned to raise about $50 million via a $20 million placement to institutional investors, together with a one of 4.15 pro-rata accelerated non-renounceable entitlement offer.

Stats NZ figures show filled jobs fell by a record 37,500 last month as the economy suffered a downfall from Covid-19 effects. Official numbers from Stats NZ show total filled jobs fell a seasonally adjusted 1.7 percent in April on the month before.
