Election Increases Job Numbers in October

As per Stats NZ, the job numbers were increased by general election staff in October 2020, also led by an increase in the retail, manufacturing, and hospitality industries. Filled jobs increased by 27,667 M-o-M to 2.2 million in October 2020.

This increase was mainly led by staff employed for New Zealand general election on 17 October. Gross earnings for October 2020 stood at $11.2 billion, as compared to $12.3 billion in October 2019.

Commerce Commission Releases Statement Regarding Acquisition of Sky’s Outside Assets

The Commerce Commission has issued a statement relating to a request from NEP Broadcast Services New Zealand Limited requesting clearance to buy Sky Network Television Limited’s assets of Outside Broadcasting Limited.

The Commission shall grant clearance to the recommended merger if they are convinced that the merger is not likely to effect competition in the market.

Stride Property Declares Dividend for Second Quarter

Stride Property Group (NZX:SPG) has declared a combined cash dividend of 2.4775 cents per share for the second quarter of FY21.

Stride Property Limited (SPL) announced a cash dividend of 1.9025 cents per share;

Stride Investment Management Limited (SIML) announced a cash dividend of 0.5750 cents per share.

The company is targeting to pay annual cash dividend of 9.91 cents per share for FY21.
