RBNZ announced that Andy Wood, Head of Supervision and Toby Fiennes, Head of Financial System Policy and Analysis, would be leaving in a few months.

Governor Adrian Orr appreciated Andy and Toby for making many key accomplishments at RBNZ. While Tony oversaw first-class policy advice that propelled the substantial expansion of the bank’s regulatory duties, Andy encouraged talent and led the growth to support a more rigorous supervision strategy.

Toby will make an exit in March, and Andy will leave before Christmas to spend the summer with his family.

RBNZ is adjusting the structure of its senior leadership team that will expand the team from 6 to 8 positions. The additional positions have been formed for the General Manager of ‘Risk, Compliance and Legal Services’ and ‘Information and Data Analytics’.

New roles will strengthen the ability and capacity of the leadership team, ensuring important tasks are given suitable importance.

Toby and Andy will not take roles in the changed structure.

Bottom Line

Recruitment for the executive leadership team is ongoing, while hiring for newly created senior leadership roles will start in January 2022.
