Most traded stocks are the most active stocks on a particular day, week or month. The movement in the stock price is closely related to the buys or sells of a stock. If the stock is in the green, it indicates more buys and if it is in the red, it means more sells. An investor could buy or sell a stock depending on the announcements made by the Company and also the general trends in the market.

Auckland International Airport Limited (NZX:AIA)

AIA was the most traded stock on the NZX on Friday.  Its volumes were to the tune of 3,495,039. The stock was down by 0.21% at NZ$7.240.  In June, AIA announced that the passenger volumes had increased by 747.1% in May versus pcp. While the international travelers were up substantially by 778.0%, the transit passengers were down 73.3%. However, the domestic passengers noted an increase by 755.7%.

Kiwi Property Limited (NZX:KPG)

KPG reported volumes of 3,250,238. It was trading flat at NZ$ 1.165. This indicated that there were equal number of sells and buys on the stock. Recently, at KPG’s annual shareholders meeting four resolutions were passed by the shareholders. These resolutions were largely about the nomination of directors on the Board of the company.

Spark New Zealand Limited  (NZX:SPK)

Spark NZ reported trading volumes upwards of 2,795, 829. The stock was trading at NZ$ 4.735 down by 0.73%. The Company recently announced the date of its FY21 results as being 28 July 2021. Prior to that it made announcement about extending the tenure of Ana Wright as Future Director for another five months till 31 December 2021.

Meridian Energy Limited (NZX:MEL)

Mel was also one of the most traded stocks on the NZX on Friday. Its volumes were at 2,711,082 and the share price was lower by 2.06.63% at NZ$ 5. 220. The Company had recently announced that its operating numbers were better than before but had not been able to reach the pre-COVID-19 levels.

Precinct Property New Zealand Limited (NZX:PCT)

PCT was one of the most traded stock on the NZX on Friday. It reported maximum volumes at 2,507,380 The stock was down by 3.03% at NZ$1.600 reflecting more sells than buys.   Recently, PCT received a binding ruling from Inland Revenue confirming that the payment for the termination of the management agreement is deductible for tax purposes.
