Racing Minister Rt Hon Winston Peters has confirmed that the government has invested NZD 399,305 in 18 projects for the safety of public and animal welfare at racecourses.
The investments are provided through the Racing Safety Development Fund, which offers NZD 0.99 million annually for racecourse safety through two funding rounds.
The second funding round of the current year has backed a range of infrastructure projects that include safety running rails, training starting gates, a septic tank upgrade, and greyhound track grooming machinery.
