NZ Government announces new temporary payment

The Government of New Zealand has announced a temporary payment to help the citizens of New Zealand who lost their jobs because of the COVID-19 pandemic to adapt and find new occupation or retrain.

  • The twelve-week payment will help people seeking for new work or retraining;
  • The payment will be offered for 12 weeks from 8 June for anyone who has lost their job due to the impact of COVID-19 since March 1;
  • The Government will pay NZ$ 490 a week to those who lost full-time work and NZ$ 250 for part-time.
