As per NZ government statistics, the daily goods trade data between a period of 1 February and 22 April 2020 compared with the corresponding period of the previous year provides an updated glance at the country's trade with the world since the virus outbreak. Main highlights include:

  • Exports to all countries dip by 14 per cent.
  • Imports from all countries are down by 21 per cent.
  • Exports to China dipped to 13 per cent.
  • Imports from China are up by 11 per cent.
