New Zealand Government Releases COVID Tracing App

New Zealand’s Ministry of Health has launched a NZ COVID Tracer app to help contact tracing in the country. Citizens who have downloaded this app will generate a digital diary of locations they have visited by scanning the QR codes exhibited at the entries to business buildings, public premises and other organisations.

  • It is the choice of the people that whether they want to share any of this information with contact tracers;
  • Any data that people choose to record with the app will be stored safely on the phone and will get deleted automatically after 31 days.
