The Government of New Zealand is funding a training program to support the kiwifruit industry to offer employment opportunities. About $200,000 has been invested to assist people into work and meet critical seasonal demand in the sector.

  • In the short term, the government’s aim is to place about 10,000 New Zealanders in primary sector;
  • The kiwifruit industry is an essential part of the country’s primary industries representing more than $5.5 billion in annual revenue and about 23,000 jobs.
