Top News of the Day || Who Launched Indigenous Treaty Talks?

Top News of the Day:

• First big news is coming from Australia. Qld launches Indigenous treaty talks. The ACT in 2019 signed an Indigenous groups treaty, this was after a VIC treaty was passed to law in 2019. QLD will now follow with creating a newly appointed Treaty Advancement Committee to work with minister Craig Crawford for more truth telling and healing. The treaty will be focused around the committees in far north QLD including Cairns.

• Moving on to the important updates on pandemic front. Australia has reported two deaths in men aged over 50 after receiving the Covid-19 vaccine. The medical regulatory body of Australia, Therapeutic Drugs Administration (TGA) will be investigating into whether the deaths were directly linked to the vaccine.

• And now, lets have a look at this important news on climate change. After Australia’s Federal government’s announcement to dedicate approximately $500 million towards low emissions technology, Australia is investing in forging more partnerships in developing better technologies in the aim to achieve a cleaner economy.

• Federal Budget allocation of $747 million for national security purposes has been announced by Australia’s Prime Minister Scott Morrison. Australia’s Prime Minister also has reinforced that he advocates a “free and open” Indo-Pacific. In an uncertain world, the main aim of his is the maintenance of peace and the military spending is not a message to China.
