Top News Of The Day || What's the latest from the Australian Covid-19 inoculation roll-out?

• After the decision to not use the AstraZenca vaccine for under 50’s, Australia’s government has decided to buy an additional 25 million Moderna vaccine doses. 10 million of the doses will be shipped by this year and the remaining 15 million is set to arrive by 2022.

• Delays in approvals have instigated this deal, as the Morrison government had initially ordered 51 million doses of the Novavax vaccine, but it’s expected delivery by September is still in contention due to regulatory approval delays. At present the Moderna vaccine is used in Japan, Israel, Singapore, China, Canada, US, Europe and the UK. It is expected that approximately 5 million Australians will be able to be inoculated from this new order of the Moderna vaccine.

• The International Energy Agency (IEA) based in Paris, led by Fatih Borol has been investigating into President Joe Biden’s Green Energy plan to reduce emissions by 2030.
