The Australian share market opened higher on Wednesday morning, up 19.30 points or 0.27 per cent to 7,161.90, even as Wall Street closed on a mixed note. The market rose after higher commodity prices boosted stocks of local mining and energy companies.
The S&P/ASX200 is currently trading at 7195, up 52.40 points or 0.73 per cent at 12:13 PM Australian Eastern Standard Time. The top performing stocks in this index are Pilbara Minerals, up 4.78 per cent and SANTOS, up 4.63 per cent respectively. Over the last five days, the index has gained 1.45 per cent and is currently 0.12 per cent off of its 52-week high.
Shares of Worley (ASX:WOR) gained as much as 6.3 per cent to AU$11.170, their biggest one-day percentage jump since 23 February 2021. In an Investor Day update, the engineering solutions firm mentioned it is on track to deliver an improved performance in the second half. The Company added that sales pipeline of FY22 is 25 times the achieved sales of FY20 under low-carbon hydrogen.
